Covering over 120 acres, Eilan Development is a proposed self-sustaining LEED certified mixed-use development with over 1.5 million-SF of multi-family, office, retail, hotel and entertainment features. Created to address the needs of the rapidly growing population of San Antonio, Texas, Eilan stands in stark contrast to the typical urban sprawl development model.

The master plan provides for a uniform comprehensive design fashioned on an Italian hill town in Tuscany. The buildings, outdoor pedestrian spaces and amenity areas are designed to respond to the geographic conditions of the site; maximizing the vistas and natural topography, while establishing meaningful outdoor pedestrian spaces that promoting social engagement and community interaction.

Equally important to the development, both in its conception and in consideration of the community’s long-term environmental effects, is the incorporation of sustainable design. From water and energy conservation, to the recycling and reuse of construction materials, the design takes into consideration the costs and benefits over the entire life of the community, not just the up-front costs.
